Our Heritage
In 1878 the Reverend Canon Francis Holland, Chaplain to Queen Victoria and King Edward VII, established the Church of England High School for Girls Company, in order to provide a sound education for girls, according to the teaching of the Church of England.
The first Francis Holland School, the Church of England High School for Girls opened on Tuesday 1 October at number 6 Baker Street and was later named , now situated on the corner of Ivor Place in NW1. A second school opened in Belgravia, in 1881, moving to Graham Terrace, SW1 in 1884, where it remains today. Now known today as .
September 2024 saw an exciting phase in the history of the schools with the move of Sloane Square Junior School from Graham Terrace to Manresa Road in Chelsea, opening as .
Innovators in their day, both Francis Holland and his wife Mary Sibylla were committed to the advancement and provision of education for girls. This spirit of innovation lives on in all three schools today.
Whilst the 星空媒体传媒 Trust has an Anglican foundation, all 星空媒体传媒 welcome girls from all faiths or none.
